Prabin Shakya (PhD), Executive Director  

FPAN welcomes Dr. Prabin Shakya as a head of the organization w.e.f. January 1, 2024.  

He will work for FPAN based in Lalitpur, Head Office to develop organizational program strategies and priorities, and to set the overall direction of the program division.  He will be responsible to provide overall leadership and direction to implement FPAN policy, strategies, and programs at national, district and community levels, ensuring long term value creation in alignment with FPAN and IPPF’s purpose, vision and mission.

He is a seasoned professional with more than two decades of experience on FP, SRH and public health program management, adolescent sexuality, and gender and social equity. He has a strong record in building public private partnership, external relationships, network, and communication.

He has completed PhD in Population Studies from University of Waikato, New Zealand, MPhil in Development Studies (Social Change) from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. He has published some opinion articles and journals related to SRHR.
